B.Sc. in Mathematics

Knowledge and ability in mathematics and science is the basis for economic development and competitiveness of nations. An education in mathematics is good preparation for careers in various areas. It is also excellent training for tackling all sorts of problems that require innovative thinking and analytical ability as well as effective and organized work. Last but not least, the mysteries and beauty of mathematics have the same irresistible appeal for many people now as they have had for thousands of years.

The RU School of Computer Science (SCS) offers a strong program in mathematics, which provides a sound basis for various lines of work, and for research in mathematics and related fields. In addition to the required mathematics, students can select courses from RU's other schools. For example, students interested in business can take the bulk of their elective courses in the School of Business and courses on financial mathematics within their mathematics requirement. It is also possible to use most or all of the elective courses for computer science, in addition to related mathematics courses.
