Services for Students

The role of RU's Career Services is to assist current and former RU students with starting their careers or with finding a new job which suits the education they have acquired at RU. Good preparation is the key to students finding suitable jobs at the end of their studies. Career Services helps students with this preparation and also provides them with training in all aspects of the application process. This service is provided both to groups of students and to individual students.

Matching of Jobs with Candidates

If you are interested in being among the students looked at in connection with job opportunities presented to Career Services you need to do the following:

  • Register in the database of Career Services. When doing this you use the same user name and password as for RU's intranet. Make sure that all information you submit is accurate and do not abbreviate names of companies, schools, degrees, etc.
  • Keep in mind that a number of jobs presented to RU's Career Services are not advertised online. Instead, only the database is searched for a possible match.

Advice to Individuals

As a current or former student of RU, you have the option of meeting with a consultant from RU's Career Services for advice regarding your job search, for example, on how to make a resumé and cover letter, how to present yourself in job interviews, and other parts of the application process. You can also discuss the job market in general and try to find out which jobs most interest you. RU's Career Services can furthermore, in cooperation with Student Counceling, give advice concerning area of interest analysis. In addition, Career Services can to a certain extent supply you with information on graduate studies and how those studies may benefit your career.

Work Shops

Work shops will be held regularly. The emphases in work shops and the number of work shops held will be determined by demand from students. Among the issues covered will be:

  • Making resumés and cover letters.
  • Preparing for job interviews.
