Reykjavik University Student Services

RU's Student Services emphasise:

• Increasing the ability and ambition of students in regard to studies and work.
• Strengthening students as academics and specialists in order to maximise their talents.
• Enhancing the self-confidence and self-knowledge of students.

The responsibilities of Student Services are for example:

• Study circles
• Dean's List
• Guðfinna S. Barnadóttir's Entrepreneur Award in collaboration with the Iceland Chamber of Commerce and Bakkavör Group
• Scholarships for first-year students
• Seminars on controlling exam anxiety
• Area-of-interest analysis and advice on choosing studies and professions
• Supervision of a support system for students with learning difficulties
• Dissemination of information regarding the school and participation in promotional work
• Individual interviews where current and prospective students are given:
  o Information on work methods and study techniques
  o Information on courses of study and professions
  o Encouragement to maximise their abilities and potential
  o Personal advice on coordinating their studies and personal lives

In the near future, Student Services will develop new areas of service, for example, in collaboration with RU's Career Services.
